Space Adventures' vision is to open spaceflight and the space frontier to private citizens. Over the next decade Space Adventures will fly more people to space than have made the journey since the dawn of the Space Age. Our clients will fly on suborbital flights, on voyages to Earth orbit and on historic expeditions that circumnavigate the moon. Flights will leave from spaceports both on Earth and in space, visiting private space stations, and aboard dozens of different vehicles. By continually providing newly available space experiences and improving existing space experiences, Space Adventures will continue to lead the private spaceflight industry that it begun in 2001 with the flight of the world's first space tourist.

Welcome to the Space Tourism Society Imagine floating in zero gravity while gazing at our beautiful planet Earth majestically rolling by your view port. Millions of people from around the world would love to have such a wonderful life-enhancing experience. Founded in 1996, the Space Tourism Society is the first organization specifically focused on the space tourism industry. Our goals: To conduct the research, build public desire, and acquire the financial and political power to make space tourism available to as many people as possible as soon as possible.

Space tourism is no longer just the outlandish vision of science fiction writers. While still only affordable to the very wealthy, space tourism offers a unique type of adventure that is sought after by a large percent of the traveling population. From the mind-boggling thrill of looking at Earth from space to the feeling of weightlessness, space trips offer the experience of a lifetime to well-funded travelers. Through Space Adventures, Ltd. and the Russian Soyuz program, American Dennis Tito became the first fee-paying tourist in space. He was later followed by South African Mark Shuttlework and American entrepreneur/scientist Gregory Olsen. Soon after, private space traveling for paying tourists was temporarily put on hold when Soyuz vehicles became the only available transport to the International Space Station after the Columbia disaster. Private companies in Russia, Europe and the United States are competing to become future leaders of space tourism. Even though analysts envision space tourism travel becoming more and more popular, development is a slow process. Analysts say floating space hotels are on the horizon, but until space travel is more affordable, there will not be a substantial market for the hotels.
