ST. JOSEPH - Every business owner knows that to improve your bottom line, you must increase productivity while reducing overhead. One of the most time-consuming, as well as expensive, activities for a business can be ordering printed materials (business cards, stationery, etc.) and promotional items (websites, brochures, etc.). But you can't eliminate such vital business tools, so what can be done?
Lighthouse Colorprint is proud to announce two new services that reduce both the time and expense associated with obtaining business materials: On-line, web based, ordering of Printing and Websites.
"From our website, www.LighthouseColorprint.com, businesses in Southwest Michigan (and across the country) can now design their own stationery for example, on-line," states Chris McCrosky, Manager of Lighthouse Colorprint. "The process is simple and anyone can easily design their own letterhead or business cards with a few clicks. Since you can do this from your own office or home, at a time convenient for you, you'll save time and money compared with driving somewhere to meet with your printer. Plus, we'll ship orders right to your door, saving you even more time away."
McCrosky said his company has also posted more than 150 "pre-designed" websites styles on their website that can be ordered on-line. "Our 'pre-designed' websites have completely eliminated one of the most expensive aspects of developing a website ... the design," according to McCrosky. Instead, Lighthouse Colorprint clients are now able to select a 'pre-designed' style that meets their needs and email the text and photos for insertion. "This can save the client anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand depending on their web needs," states McCrosky.
The Internet continues to bring efficiency and potential cost savings to Southwest Michigan businesses of every size and shape. Visit www.LighthouseColorprint.com today for additional information and to see samples.
Lighthouse Colorprint is celebrating their 15th year providing printing and website design work for businesses in Southwest Michigan and across the Untied States.

Presque Isle County is a large county covering 419,584 acres of loand or 656 square miles. Of the total area, almost 20% is State Recreational Land. State Parks and Recreational Areas covers 5,822 acres, fishing and boating sites have a total acreage of 284, and there are 80,454 acres of Mackinaw State forest. Presque Isle County has no federal recreational land. The climate varies greatly from summer to winter. The record high temperature for the county was a scorching 100 degrees and the record low was a frigid 35 degrees below zero. Precipitation in the area is greatest in the form of snow with an average snowfall of 88.9 inches from November to March.
Presque Isle County has an abundance of natural resources and beauty. The county has 68.7 miles of Lake Huron Shoreline on its eastern border. The county also provides 20,928 acres of inland water. In addition to Lake Huron, there are 48 lakes covering 14, 627 acres. The largest is Grand Lake, which covers 5,660 acres and has 19 islands. There are 35 miles of main streams and 266 miles of tributaries totalin 301 miles. Major rivers among these are the Ocqueoc, Rainy, Black and Thunder Bay.
The bedrock underlying the general area is limestone which will dissolve easily in water. Sinkholes are formed when large circular caves in the limestone collapse, as the water dissolves the rock. This small group of sinkholes is only part of a larger karst system extending eastward to Lake Huron. Some sinks, like Shoepac Lake and Francis Lake, are filled with water and some, like those on this pathway, are dry. The bottom of the first sinkhole is more than the surface of Shoepac Lake, an unusual occurrence.
Hunting
The county has 74,189 acres of public land; 387,386 acres of private land; 118,316 acres of agricultural land; and 54,990 acres of residential land without houses. Presque Isle County also offers a wide variety of hunting and trapping on both private and public land. The Black Mountain Area has good hunting opportunities of deer, squirrels and, to a lesser extent, turkeys, ruffed grouse and bear.
Fishing
Presque Isle County is a fisherman's paradise because of its bounty of water resources. From Rogers City, Michigan's Salmon Capitol to Onaway, the Sturgeon Capitol, fishing is excellent. Fishing enthusiasts can choose from rivers to lakes; from the smallest creek to vazt Lake Huron. Whether using the latest technology on a Great Lakes Charter boat or a worm on a hook and a wooden pole, Presque Isle calls young and old, male and female to this ancient sport. There are inland waterfalls located on Rainy River, Swan River and Ocqueoc River. The abundance of water creates the perfect opportunity for fishing. The County's largest lake, Grand Lake has a diversity of fish species including bass, perch, pike and walleye.
In addition, Presque Isle County also has Canada Creek, a Blue Ribbon Trout stream, running through a part of the country.
Black Lake, is the 5th largest lake in the Lower Peninsula, spans Presque Isle and Cheboygan Counties and is one of the better sportfishing lakes in Northern Michigan. One of the numerous lakes in Presque Isle County, Black Lake is known for its walleye fishery as well as its unique lake sturgeon fishery. Other sport fish availalbe to anglers include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, nothern pike, Great Lakes muskellonge, yellow perch and rock bass. The Twin Lake chain of lakes on the wester edge of Black Mountain provides angling opportunities for northern pike, bluegills, rock bass and largemouth bass. East Twin Lake is a small designated trout lake. The Lake Nettie, Lake May chain of lakes is also a very popular fishing spot.
Bird Watching
Pristine forests, numerous inland lakes and 72 miles of Lake Huron shoreline make Presque Isle a birder's paradise. It's location in the central flyway with a Great Lake shoreline makes it a perfect spot to see waterfowl, shore birds, migrating song birds and numerous resident species, including the majestic bald eagle. Whether you are a novice or an experienced bird listener, Presque Isle has much to offer.
The 74,000 acres of Mackinac State Forest form a convenient birding area close to any place in the county, and the birder is never to far away from one of the counties 99 lakes. A good place to start would be Grand Lake, a good breeding lake for the common loon.
