Centrally located to the beaches of the South Brunswick Islands, Shallotte is the shopping and professional hub of this area of southeastern North Carolina. Named for the scenic Shallotte River, which winds through the town,
Shallotte is home to many nationally franchised restaurants, lodging facilities and stores. Many professional offices are located here as well.
There are also a number of fine local restaurants and shops.
Shallotte is home to some excellent Golf Courses including Brunswick County's First course - Brierwood Golf Course and Arnold Palmer's latest design - River's Edge Golf Course. There are more than thirty more within a 20 minute drive and over 100 within an hour's drive.
Shallotte lies between the historic port of Wilmington, N.C. and the tourist attractions of Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Although Shallotte has grown over the years, it has maintained its small town leisurely charm.
