Stone Houses In Willard City, south of Perry, along the famous “Fruitway”, and at the base of Willard Peak, there is located some historical architecture that is unique to the British Isles immigration to Utah. It is what brings the taste of Wales to what was then the Western Frontier. Found here are the greatest concentration of Welch-styled stone houses anywhere in Utah. These charming private residences were built by pioneers and are now a part of the picturesque scenery on the drive between Brigham City and Tremonton along state road 38. An absolute must-see. To take a self-guided tour, call (435)734-2631 or (435) 734-0332 . Tabernacle Built on a site chosen by Brigham Young himself, the Brigham City Tabernacle is an architectural gem. Take a free guided tour in summertime Golden Spike When the Central Pacific Railroad met and connected to the Union Pacific Railroad at Promontory, Utah, it was the beginning of the end for the American frontier; the end of the beginning for national unity. On May 10, every year, there is a reenactment of the driving of the golden spike held at Promontory Utah. What’s at the visitors center? The Golden Spike Visitor Center is open 9 am-5 pm daily, May through September. From October through April, the visitor center is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The center is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and on New Year’s Day. Here you will find slide programs, films, a variety of exhibits, and even a bookstore. In addition, 1.7 miles of track have been re-laid on the original roadbed where the rails were actually joined.
