Climate Change-you CAN make a difference!
Alaska is the first to feel the ecological implications of global climate change, as well as its affect on the tourism industry. AWRTA is partnering with Sustainable Travel International and MyClimate to allow travelers to neutralize their tourism related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that contribute to global warming. Careful restoration has transformed this
building into an elegant lodging while
maintaining its rural charm. Just a few steps
from the pool and restaurant, it features seven double bedrooms with private baths, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large living room with a fireplace. The porch and private
garden, surrounded by a surprising panorama, offer small oases for relaxing. In the same building there is also an apartment "Lila" with a terrace giving onto the vineyard.

Jokikumpu is a Farm Tourist attraction that was founded in 1998. Since then, we have offered year round lodging. We have several visitors who make their reservations with us year after year. With Tahkovouri being nearby, our location is fantastic for those who enjoy downhill skiing, golf, or horseback riding. Tahko Spa was also opened at the end of 2005, offering bowling, a multifunction arena, and a spa.
In the summertime, we also cultivate hay and strawberries. You can also enjoy fishing and swimming at the lake near the cabins! The host and hostess welcome you to spend a holiday in Jokikumpu!

The concept of agrotourism is a direct development of rural bed and breakfast accomodation and the expansion of ecotourism, which encourages visitors to experience agricultural life at first hand. Agrotourism is gathering strong support from farming communities which perceive the benefit of additional forms of income to support their farm business and as they realise the benefits of sustainable development brought about by countryside visitors wishing to stay in traditional setting rather than in major tourist centres on the coast. Across Europe, the range of Agrotorism activities varies greatly from island to island, adapting to the local situation. Visitors have the opportunity to stay overnight in working farms, sample and help prepare local produce, mucking in by helping in the fields alongside real farmers, access private farmland which otherwise remains private, and have hands on experience getting wet with fishermen hauling in their nets

Down country lanes across the state, Pennsylvania’s family farms extend a warm invitation for you to come for a visit. Each of our farms is unique. Some raise milk cows, others beef cattle. We have poultry farms and sheep farms. At several of our farms, you can enjoy horseback riding. Leave the stress of the city behind and escape to the peace and quiet of the country. Awake to the crow of the rooster and a homemade breakfast like grandma used to make. Enjoy the antics of our barnyard animals. Take time to enjoy life and relax!
